CVE-2024-26698 is a race condition in the Linux kernel Hyper-V network driver (hv_netvsc) between netvsc_probe() and netvsc_remove(). If probing completes before deferred subchannel initialization begins, subchannel NAPI structures may have been added but not enabled. Device removal cancels the pending subchannel work and invokes napi_disable() on these non-enabled NAPI structures. Because their NAPI scheduling-state bit was never cleared by napi_enable(), napi_disable() can wait indefinitely.
