CVE-2024-26934 is a deadlock vulnerability in the Linux kernel USB core. The interface authorization sysfs store handler invokes usb_deauthorize_interface(), which acquires the parent USB device lock while executing as an active sysfs attribute callback. If another execution context already holds that device lock and begins removing the interface, such as during a USB configuration change or device disconnection, device removal waits for active sysfs callbacks to finish. The callback cannot finish until the parent-device lock is released, while the lock holder cannot complete removal until the callback exits. The upstream fix uses sysfs_break_active_protection() so sysfs does not wait on this callback during removal.
