CVE-2024-27010 is a deadlock flaw in the Linux kernel traffic-control scheduler subsystem. When the mirred action redirects or mirrors traffic through a classful egress qdisc back to the same device, or through a recursive device path that returns to a previously entered device, the transmit path can attempt to acquire the same qdisc lock recursively. The resulting recursive locking condition can deadlock the networking path. The fix records the CPU owning an entered root qdisc and drops a packet when the same CPU recursively re-enters that qdisc, breaking the loop.
