CVE-2024-27017 is a race condition in the Linux kernel netfilter nft_set_pipapo set backend. During a netlink dump, the backend walk iterator relied on the generation mask to infer which internal set view to traverse. Because the generation mask may change while the dump is in progress, the iterator could select an incorrect view. The fix explicitly identifies whether the operation is reading or updating the set and makes netlink dump traversal use the current view.
