CVE-2024-27393 is a resource-leak vulnerability in the Linux kernel Xen netfront network driver. Receive-path socket buffers associated with page-pool-backed memory were not marked for recycling with skb_mark_for_recycle(). Consequently, page-pool pages may not be returned for reuse, causing a memory leak. The issue existed in kernel versions where the prior page-pool release handling was absent and remained observable after page-pool leak detection was introduced in Linux kernel 6.8.
