CVE-2024-27434 is an improper exceptional-condition handling issue in the Linux kernel iwlwifi MVM Wi-Fi driver. The driver can set the Management Frame Protection (MFP) flag on a Group Temporal Key (GTK) when an access point uses the TKIP group cipher and is configured as MFPC-capable. This produces an invalid GTK configuration because TKIP and MFP cannot be used together, and can cause the wireless firmware to crash.
