CVE-2024-2771 is a privilege escalation vulnerability in the Contact Form Plugin by Fluent Forms for Quiz, Survey, and Drag & Drop WP Form Builder for WordPress. The flaw is caused by a missing capability check on the /wp-json/fluentform/v1/managers REST API endpoint in versions up to and including 5.1.16. Because the endpoint does not properly verify whether the requester has sufficient privileges, an unauthenticated attacker can modify Fluent Forms manager assignments. This allows attackers to grant users Fluent Forms management permissions, exposing access to the plugin’s administrative settings and operational features, and also to delete manager accounts.
