Indirect Target Selection (ITS) is a transient-execution vulnerability in certain Intel processors. An authenticated local attacker can train the indirect-branch predictor so that an indirect branch transiently executes an attacker-selected gadget, including in kernel context. This can bypass Enhanced Indirect Branch Restricted Speculation (eIBRS) domain-isolation protections and expose data through shared microarchitectural structures. Reported affected processor families include Skylake-X stepping 6 and later, Kaby Lake, Comet Lake, Ice Lake, Tiger Lake, and Rocket Lake.
