CVE-2024-34064 is an attribute-injection vulnerability in Jinja's xmlattr filter. Affected implementations permit dictionary keys containing characters invalid in HTML/XML attribute names, including whitespace, slash, greater-than, and equals characters. When attacker-controlled keys are passed to xmlattr, these characters can terminate or alter the intended attribute syntax and inject additional attributes into generated markup. The preceding CVE-2024-22195 remediation addressed spaces but did not reject the other unsafe characters. Jinja 3.1.4 corrects the identified filter behavior; however, passing unvalidated user-controlled keys to xmlattr is explicitly considered insecure regardless of installed Jinja version. User-controlled values remain safely escaped by the filter.
