A race/state-management flaw in the Linux kernel Netfilter nf_tables subsystem occurs when an nftables transaction combines deletion of a base chain with an update to the containing table's dormant flag. Both base-chain hook unregistration and hook changes caused by dormant-flag updates are deferred until transaction commit. The combined operation can delete the base chain while leaving its Netfilter hook registered in the kernel core, producing a stale hook registration.
