CVE-2024-35962 is an improper input-validation vulnerability in the Linux kernel Netfilter subsystem. Netfilter do_replace() handlers validated user-controlled socket-option input incompletely: after an initial copy operation, they performed offset-based copies without first ensuring that the supplied option length was at least the size required by the table metadata. The fix validates optlen against the requested structure size before table allocation and any offset-based copy operations.
