CVE-2024-36025 is an off-by-one out-of-bounds write in the Linux kernel qla2xxx SCSI Fibre Channel driver’s qla_edif_app_getstats() function. The function allocates the app_reply->elem[] array for app_req.num_ports elements, but its bounds check permitted an index equal to the element count. Changing the comparison from > to >= prevents writing beyond the allocated array.
