CVE-2024-36104 is an improper limitation of a pathname to a restricted directory (path traversal) vulnerability in Apache OFBiz versions before 18.12.14. The flaw affects pathname handling intended to constrain access to a restricted directory.

1 valid exploit after Mallory filtered fakes, detection scripts, and README-only repos.
Small standalone Python proof-of-concept repository for CVE-2024-36104 affecting Apache OFBiz before 18.12.14. The repo contains one executable script (cve_2024_36104.py), a README with usage details, a requirements file, and a license. The exploit is not part of a larger framework. Core capability: unauthenticated remote code execution against vulnerable OFBiz instances. The script validates a supplied base URL, constructs a traversal-based ControlServlet path that starts from an unauthenticated view (default forgotPassword) and reaches ProgramExport using /%2e/%2e/, then submits a Groovy payload in the groovyProgram parameter. That payload executes ['/usr/bin/bash', '-lc', <command>] on the remote server and throws a Java exception containing the command output so the script can recover it from the HTML response. Operational structure observed from the code and README: argument parsing for target/command and optional endpoint customization; URL normalization; payload generation with Groovy-safe quoting; optional unicode-style obfuscation of the Groovy source to evade naive signatures; HTTP request sending with requests and disabled TLS warnings; response parsing using regex/html unescaping to extract java.lang.Exception output; and console/logging helpers for formatted output. The script also supports custom Host header values, custom endpoint override, timeout control, payload/response display, and quieter output modes. This is a real exploit rather than a detector: it actively sends a code-execution payload and returns command output. The payload is basic and hardcoded to bash execution, so maturity is best classified as OPERATIONAL rather than WEAPONIZED.
