CVE-2024-39471 is an out-of-bounds read vulnerability in the Linux kernel DRM AMDGPU driver. The SDMA v4.0 interrupt-ID-to-sequence conversion path did not stop processing when the mapping routine returned -EINVAL. Subsequent processing could use the failed result as an index, causing an out-of-bounds read. The upstream correction returns -EINVAL immediately when sequence mapping fails.
