CVE-2024-39507 is a race condition in the Linux kernel hns3 network driver. During link status changes, the NIC driver notifies the RoCE driver of the event. In a concurrent scenario, the RoCE driver may already be in the process of uninitializing when that notification occurs, leading to an invalid interaction and a resulting kernel crash. The fix adds a check to verify whether the RoCE component is still registered before notifying it, and ensures uninitialization waits for link update handling to complete.
