CVE-2024-40725 is an incomplete fix for CVE-2024-39884 in Apache HTTP Server 2.4.61. The HTTP server core ignores certain legacy content-type-based handler configurations, including AddType, when files are requested indirectly. This can cause content intended for server-side interpretation, such as PHP scripts, to be served as source code rather than executed.
