CVE-2024-41005 is a race condition in the Linux kernel netpoll subsystem. The netpoll_owner_active() ownership check reads the NAPI poll_owner field non-atomically while net_rx_action can update that field in interrupt context. Because poll_owner identifies the CPU holding the lock, concurrent access can cause netpoll_send_skb to observe an inconsistent ownership value. The fix changes the ownership check to use an atomic read of the poll-owner field.
