CVE-2024-41097 is an improper input-validation flaw in the Linux kernel USB ATM CXACRU driver. During device binding, cxacru_bind() incompletely validated the presence and types of USB endpoints. A device presenting unsuitable endpoint descriptors could cause the driver to select an endpoint of the wrong transfer type and subsequently submit a USB Request Block (URB) with an inconsistent pipe/type combination. The kernel detects this condition in usb_submit_urb() and emits a BOGUS URB transfer warning. The fix validates the required input and output endpoint types, including the command endpoint type, before continuing device initialization.
