CVE-2024-42237 is an out-of-bounds access vulnerability in the Linux kernel cs_dsp firmware parser. In cs_dsp_load() and cs_dsp_coeff_load(), block-processing logic used a firmware block payload-length field before verifying that the declared payload length did not exceed the bytes remaining in the firmware buffer. The fix moves payload-length validation ahead of all processing of the block.
