CVE-2024-45410 is an improper handling issue in Traefik's processing of HTTP/1.1 hop-by-hop headers. Traefik adds security-relevant forwarding and client-identity headers before routing requests to backend applications, but an HTTP/1.1 client can designate certain headers as hop-by-hop through the Connection header. This can cause Traefik-added forwarding headers to be removed and, in some cases, effectively manipulated. Backends that trust these headers may make security decisions using attacker-influenced or absent values.
