CVE-2024-45775 is a NULL pointer dereference flaw in GRUB2 command handling. The grub_extcmd_dispatcher() function allocates the GRUB argument list through grub_arg_list_alloc() but does not verify whether the allocation succeeded. If allocation fails, a NULL pointer is passed to parse_option(), which can crash GRUB and, in rare circumstances, corrupt interrupt-vector-table data.
