CVE-2024-45782 is a heap-based out-of-bounds write in GRUB's HFS filesystem driver. During HFS volume mounting, grub_fs_mount() copies the filesystem volume name with strcpy() without validating that the supplied name fits the destination allocation. A crafted HFS volume with an overlong volume name can therefore overwrite heap-resident GRUB data.
