CVE-2024-45811 is an arbitrary file-read vulnerability in Vite development servers. Vite’s filesystem-serving mechanism is intended to enforce the server.fs.deny restriction and prevent access to files outside the permitted serving scope. A crafted import-and-raw query-string combination bypasses that restriction, causing Vite to return the contents of an existing file to the requesting browser.
