A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's Qualcomm SoC Command Database (cmd-db) driver allowed the shared memory region to be mapped as Write-Back (WB) cacheable instead of Write-Combining (WC). Since the Linux kernel does not write to this region and it is protected by XPU, cache evictions could be misinterpreted as writes, triggering secure interrupts and potentially causing an endless loop in TrustZone. The issue is masked when using the Qualcomm Hypervisor, which maps the region as non-cacheable, but manifests with other hypervisors like Xen or KVM.
