CVE-2024-46826 is a race condition in the Linux kernel ELF loader. During a single exec operation, the loader reads the mutable kernel.randomize_va_space sysctl twice. If the setting changes between those reads, the loader can use inconsistent address-space-randomization values, resulting in unpredictable behavior. The fix obtains the value once and uses that consistent value throughout the exec operation.
