CVE-2024-47719 is an integer-overflow vulnerability in the Linux kernel iommufd IOVA allocation path. User-controlled IOVA and userspace-address values can cause the computed target IOVA alignment to become excessively large. The ALIGN() operation can then overflow, corrupting the allocation area's selected range in iopt_alloc_area_pages() during iopt_map_pages(). The fix caps automatic alignment at the huge-page size, preventing the overflow and avoiding unnecessarily large automatic alignments that consume or fragment IOVA address space.
