CVE-2024-49513 is a critical out-of-bounds write vulnerability in Adobe PDFL Software Development Kit (SDK). It affects PDFL SDK version 21.0.0.5 and earlier, and vendor remediation guidance indicates fixed versions beginning with 21.0.0.7 across Windows, Linux, and macOS. The flaw allows memory to be written outside the bounds of an intended buffer while processing a malicious file, creating a path to arbitrary code execution in the security context of the current user. Exploitation requires user interaction, specifically that a victim open a specially crafted file with software using the vulnerable PDFL SDK.
