CVE-2024-50110 is an information-disclosure vulnerability in the Linux kernel XFRM subsystem. During algorithm dumping through Netlink, uninitialized algorithm structure fields or padding can be copied into userspace. The diagnostic trace identifies allocation through attach_auth in xfrm_add_sa and subsequent handling through copy_to_user_state_extra, dump_one_state, xfrm_state_walk, and xfrm_dump_sa. KMSAN detected 52 uninitialized bytes in a 732-byte transfer on Linux 6.8.11. The disclosed bytes may contain sensitive kernel-memory data.

A Linux kernel XFRM information-disclosure vulnerability exposes uninitialized structure fields or padding to userspace when dumping algorithm information. Discovered through Syzkaller fuzz testing, it can disclose potentially sensitive kernel memory to a local attacker with low privileges. The reference assigns a CVSS v3 base score of 5.5 (Medium), with confidentiality impact but no integrity or availability impact. The prescribed fix is updating sys-kernel/lakitu-kernel-6_1 and related packages to version 18613.75.37 or later.
