CVE-2024-50334 is a vulnerability in Scoold, a Q&A and knowledge-sharing platform for teams, caused by semicolon path injection on the configuration API endpoint. Requests to the affected endpoint can be crafted with a semicolon in the path to bypass normal authentication controls and access configuration data without authorization. In addition, unauthenticated PUT requests to the same endpoint using the HOCON content type can trigger HOCON file inclusion behavior, enabling arbitrary file read from the server. This can expose sensitive configuration material and other locally readable files, creating a pathway for follow-on compromise.
