CVE-2024-55879 is a remote code execution vulnerability in XWiki Platform affecting versions starting from 2.3 and before 15.10.9 and 16.3.0. The issue allows any authenticated user who already has script rights to add instances of XWiki.ConfigurableClass to arbitrary pages and leverage that capability to execute arbitrary code on the XWiki server. The vulnerable condition is tied to the handling of configurable sections/classes in XWiki, where adding XWiki.ConfigurableClass instances can result in attacker-controlled script execution in a privileged server-side context.
