CVE-2024-56201 is a code-injection vulnerability in the Jinja template compiler affecting the 3.x branch before version 3.1.5. Jinja incorporates template filename information during compilation in a manner that permits attacker-controlled filename content to alter generated Python code. An attacker who controls both a template's content and its filename can cause arbitrary Python code execution. The flaw bypasses the security boundary provided by Jinja's sandbox; enabling the sandbox does not prevent exploitation.
