CVE-2024-56614 is an out-of-bounds write vulnerability in the Linux kernel AF_XDP XSK-map deletion path. In xsk_map_delete_elem(), a user-controlled signed key is compared against the unsigned map->max_entries value. Implicit signed-to-unsigned conversion can cause a negative key to bypass the intended bounds check when the map has a sufficiently large maximum-entry value. The negative key is subsequently used to index the XSK map array. An atomic exchange then writes through the resulting invalid map-entry pointer, and the invalid pointer may also be passed to xsk_map_sock_delete(), causing further memory corruption.
