CVE-2024-57698 affects modernwms v1.0. The application exposes sensitive user information through the /user/list?culture=en-us endpoint without requiring authentication. An unauthenticated attacker can retrieve the MD5 hash of the administrator password as well as other user attributes, including after the product has been initially configured and the administrator password has been changed. The issue stems from excessive information exposure combined with missing or inadequate access control on the user listing functionality.

This repository contains a proof-of-concept exploit for CVE-2024-57698, targeting ModernWMS v1.0 by fjykTec. The exploit is implemented in Python (CVE-2024-57698.py) and leverages an unauthenticated information disclosure vulnerability in the /user/list?culture=en-us endpoint. By sending a crafted POST request to this endpoint (over HTTP or HTTPS), the script retrieves a JSON response containing user data, including the MD5 hash of the administrator password. The exploit prints the full user data and specifically highlights the admin's MD5 password hash. The repository also includes a README.md with usage instructions and a description of the vulnerability. No authentication or special configuration is required on the target, making this a straightforward information disclosure exploit.
