CVE-2024-57988 is a NULL-pointer dereference in the Linux kernel Bluetooth btbcm component. The btbcm_get_board_name() function used the result of devm_kstrdup() without validating whether the allocation had failed and returned NULL. Subsequent use of the NULL value can dereference a kernel NULL pointer. The flaw was introduced in Linux kernel 6.9 and is fixed upstream in Linux 6.12.13, 6.13.2, and 6.14-rc1 by validating the allocation result before it is used.
