CVE-2024-57995 is a use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel Qualcomm ath12k Wi-Fi driver, in ath12k_mac_assign_vif_to_vdev(). When an arvif object was created on a different radio, ath12k_mac_unassign_link_vif() could delete the object and free arvif. The function subsequently performed a check involving the freed pointer, resulting in a read-after-free. The upstream correction defers that check until arvif has been reassigned through ath12k_mac_assign_link_vif(). The issue was introduced in Linux kernel 6.10 and is fixed upstream in 6.13.2 and 6.14-rc1.
