CVE-2024-58012 is a NULL pointer dereference in the Linux kernel ASoC Sound Open Firmware (SOF) Intel HDA DAI implementation. During DAI parameter handling, a CPU DAI is expected to have an associated DAI widget. Audio topologies using aggregated amplifiers can fail to instantiate the required number of widgets, leaving the associated widget absent. The affected code could subsequently dereference that missing widget. The fix validates the CPU DAI's associated widget before using it.
