CVE-2024-8069 is a deserialization of untrusted data vulnerability in Citrix Session Recording, a component of Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops. An authenticated user on the same intranet as the Session Recording server can submit deserialized attacker-controlled data and obtain limited remote code execution in the security context of the Windows NetworkService account.

Small repository containing a single functional Python exploit plus documentation. The core file, Citrix-Virtual-Apps-XEN-Exploit-watchtowrlabs/exploit-citrix-xen.py, is a standalone unauthenticated RCE proof-of-concept targeting Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops / Session Recording infrastructure over MSMQ-over-HTTP. It accepts --target, --cmd, and optional --port arguments, builds a multipart/related HTTP POST request, embeds a SOAP envelope referencing the private queue CitrixSmAudEventData, and appends a large serialized .NET binary payload. The payload includes indicators of gadget-based .NET deserialization abuse and references System.Diagnostics.Process.Start, enabling execution of an operator-supplied command prefixed with '/c '. Networking is implemented directly with Python's socket module, and the script only sends the payload then exits; it does not provide an interactive shell, response parsing, or reliability features. Repository structure is minimal: one exploit script, a nested README describing usage and affected versions, a top-level README that mainly serves as a collection wrapper/credit page, and a license. Overall, this is an operational PoC for unauthenticated remote command execution against exposed vulnerable Citrix MSMQ endpoints.
