CVE-2025-0684 is an integer-overflow vulnerability in GRUB2's ReiserFS filesystem module. During symbolic-link lookup, the module derives internal buffer sizes from filesystem-geometry parameters controlled by the filesystem but does not properly check for integer overflow. A crafted ReiserFS filesystem can cause an undersized allocation and subsequently pass an overflowed length to the ReiserFS data-reading routine, resulting in a heap-based out-of-bounds write.
