CVE-2025-12543 is a critical improper input validation flaw in the Undertow HTTP server core used by WildFly, JBoss EAP, and other Java applications. Undertow fails to properly validate the HTTP Host header in incoming requests, allowing malformed or attacker-controlled Host values to be accepted and processed instead of rejected. Because Host is commonly used by applications, reverse proxies, and caches for routing, link generation, and cache key decisions, this weakness can be abused for Host header injection attacks. Reported consequences include cache poisoning, server-side request forgery style access to internal services, internal network reconnaissance, and session hijacking or credential theft scenarios where attacker-controlled host values influence generated links or application behavior.
