CVE-2025-14766 is a high-severity memory-safety vulnerability in the V8 JavaScript engine used by Google Chrome and Chromium-based browsers. The flaw is described as an out-of-bounds read and write condition in V8 affecting Google Chrome prior to 143.0.7499.147. By inducing the browser to process a crafted HTML page, a remote attacker may trigger heap corruption. The vulnerability arises from improper bounds handling during V8 operations, enabling memory access outside the intended buffer or object boundaries. Because the issue involves both out-of-bounds read and write behavior in a browser scripting engine, successful exploitation may destabilize the renderer process and can potentially be developed into more serious compromise scenarios, including arbitrary code execution.
