CVE-2025-15602 is a mass assignment vulnerability in Snipe-IT affecting versions prior to 8.3.7. Sensitive user-account attributes related to account privileges are insufficiently protected from client-controlled assignment through the API. An authenticated low-privileged user can craft a malicious API request to modify restricted fields on another user account, including the Super Admin account. The described attack path includes changing the Super Admin account's email address and then initiating a password reset, which allows the attacker to assume control of that account and obtain full administrative access to the Snipe-IT instance.

Small Python PoC repository for CVE-2025-15602 targeting Snipe-IT. The repo contains two executable scripts and a README: list_users.py performs authenticated user enumeration by logging in, retrieving a CSRF token from /login, and scraping sequential /users/{id}/edit pages to extract username, first_name, last_name, and email fields. exploit_auth.py performs the actual account-takeover step by authenticating as a low-privileged user, then sending a PUT request to /api/v1/users/{target_id} with JSON fields matching the victim admin's username and first_name while replacing the email with an attacker-controlled address. The intended outcome is password-reset based takeover of a superadmin account. The exploit is not framework-based, uses Python requests plus BeautifulSoup, and requires manual BASE_URL modification and prior knowledge of the target admin details, typically gathered with the enumeration script.
