CVE-2025-21732 is a race condition in the Linux kernel Mellanox mlx5 RDMA driver’s on-demand paging (ODP) memory-region handling. During __mlx5_ib_dereg_mr(), mlx5_revoke_mr() can revoke an lkey such that it is freed from the hardware perspective. A concurrent mlx5_ib_invalidate_range() operation may then acquire the ODP memory mutex and attempt a UMR queue-pair translation update using that freed lkey. The resulting completion-queue error can place the UMR queue pair into an error state.
