CVE-2025-21928 is a use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel Intel ISH HID driver’s ishtp_hid_remove() cleanup path. While iterating over HID devices during driver removal, the routine frees per-device driver data before destroying the HID device. Device destruction can invoke hid_ishtp_set_feature() to power off a sensor and still dereference that data, resulting in invalid memory access. The fix retains the data until the HID device has been destroyed, then releases it.
