CVE-2025-21961 is a Linux kernel vulnerability in the Broadcom NetXtreme-C/E bnxt Ethernet driver XDP receive path. When multi-buffer XDP is enabled and an XDP program returns XDP_PASS, the driver converts an xdp_buff into an sk_buff in bnxt_xdp_build_skb() and calls xdp_update_skb_shared_info(). In the vulnerable logic, bnxt_xdp_build_skb() passes an incorrect truesize value derived from skb_shared_info state after napi_build_skb() has already wiped that structure. As a result, the truesize calculation for fragmented packets in the mb-xdp-pass case is incorrect. The bug manifests as kernel warnings during skb coalescing and packet reassembly, indicating inconsistent skb accounting and memory metadata handling in the networking stack.
