CVE-2025-26417 is a high-severity information disclosure vulnerability in Android's System component. The flaw is located in the checkWhetherCallingAppHasAccess function of DownloadProvider.java, where a confused deputy condition can allow bypass of user consent when opening files in shared storage. By causing the privileged component to perform an access decision on behalf of a less-privileged caller, an attacker can obtain access to file content that should have remained gated by user approval. The issue affects Android 12, 12L, 13, 14, and 15.
