CVE-2025-27112 affects Navidrome, an open source web-based music collection server and streamer. In versions starting at 0.52.0 and before 0.54.5, certain Subsonic API endpoints contain a flaw in the authentication check process. An attacker can supply an arbitrary username that does not exist in the system together with a salted hash of an empty password, and Navidrome incorrectly treats the request as authenticated. This results in an authentication bypass for affected Subsonic endpoints without requiring valid credentials. The issue is limited by the effective permissions associated with the unauthenticated context: read operations against exposed Subsonic resources succeed, while attempts to modify data fail with a permission denied error.
