CVE-2025-30189 is an authentication cache consistency flaw in Dovecot core, described as a v2.4 regression affecting several passdb and userdb drivers when auth caching is enabled. The vulnerable logic incorrectly assigns the same cache key to different users, causing passdb/userdb results for one user to be reused for other users sharing that cache key. As a result, once a login has been cached, subsequent authentication attempts may use incorrect cached identity information and be treated as the same user. The issue affects OX Dovecot CE core 2.4.0 and OX Dovecot Pro core 3.1.0; the first fixed CE release is 2.4.1.
