CVE-2025-32873 is a denial-of-service vulnerability in Django affecting 4.2 before 4.2.21, 5.1 before 5.1.9, and 5.2 before 5.2.1. The flaw is in django.utils.html.strip_tags(), which can exhibit excessively slow processing when handling attacker-controlled input containing large sequences of incomplete HTML tags. Django’s striptags template filter is also affected because it relies on strip_tags(). The issue allows crafted malformed HTML-like input to consume disproportionate processing time during sanitization or rendering workflows that invoke these routines.
