CVE-2025-34058 affects Hikvision Streaming Media Management Server v2.3.5. The product uses default credentials that permit remote attackers to authenticate to the application and access restricted functionality. Once authenticated, an attacker can exploit an arbitrary file read issue in the /systemLog/downFile.php endpoint by supplying directory traversal sequences in the fileName parameter, allowing retrieval of files outside the intended directory. The issue is therefore an exploit chain combining the use of default credentials with a path traversal-based arbitrary file read, resulting in unauthorized access to sensitive system files.
