CVE-2025-34086 is an authenticated remote code execution chain affecting Bolt CMS 3.7.0 and earlier. An attacker with valid application credentials can place arbitrary PHP code into the user profile displayname field. That value is rendered unsanitized in backend templates, creating a server-side code injection condition. The attack chain then abuses the /async/browse/cache/.sessions endpoint to enumerate cached session files and the /async/folder/rename endpoint to rename a chosen .session file into a location under the publicly accessible /files/ directory with a .php extension. This converts attacker-controlled session content containing the injected PHP payload into a web-accessible PHP script. The attacker then executes the payload by issuing an HTTP GET request to the renamed file, resulting in remote code execution on the server.

This repository contains a single Metasploit module (modules/exploits/unix/webapp/bolt_authenticated_rce.rb) targeting Bolt CMS versions 3.7.0 and 3.6.* for authenticated remote code execution (CVE-2025-34086). The exploit requires valid Bolt CMS credentials and abuses multiple web endpoints to inject PHP code via the user profile, enumerate session tokens, and create rogue PHP files that allow arbitrary command execution. The module supports multiple payloads, including Meterpreter and reverse shells, and provides cleanup functionality to revert changes and remove artifacts. The code is written in Ruby and leverages Metasploit's HttpClient and CmdStager mixins, making it a weaponized, operational exploit suitable for penetration testing and red teaming against vulnerable Bolt CMS installations.
